Transcription Types
This is the most common form of transcription and takes out the unnecessary clutter that the spoken word creates, leaving a clean worded record of the conversation.
Verbatim transcription leaves in all the non spoken noise that can interpret meaning. These can be useful for transcription types such as disciplinary interviews, as the non verbal utterances can give the reader an indication of the emotional state and any subtext behind the spoken word.
Time stamping can be useful for video transcription, or for legal documents. Time stamps are also used throughout other types of transcription to indicate where on the audio a particular word is inaudible.
